How to Lock an iPad?
Due to the touch screen of iPad, we sometimes may not be convenient to carry our iPad if we do not lock it. Or when we are cooking or do anything else, we should avoid our kids to touch our important documents on our iPads. In that case, we should lock our iPad. This is a step-by-step tutorial to teach you how to lock an iPad, including the ability to have it prompt you for a password before it allows you to unlock the device and access the home screen again.
Step 1. To access these settings, tap on the Settings app. Once in the Settings app, and in the General category, tap on the Auto-Lock option. This will present you with a screen similar to the one below.

Step 2. To access these settings tap on the General Settings category again and then select Passcode Lock. This will bring you to a screen similar to the one below.

Step 3. To enable the passcode, tap on the Turn Passcode On button and you will be at a screen asking you to input a passcode as shown below.

Now each time your iPad is turned on, you'll have to enter the 4 digit pin in order to access any of your content. Then you have finished locking an iPad.
